Wright Lindsey Jennings’ partner Michael A. Thompson will be honored in the category of Best Legal Writing during the Arkansas Bar Association Annual Meeting in June. His winning article, “The Emerging Field of Drone Law,” was published in The Arkansas Lawyer’s Fall 2016 issue.
The Arkansas Bar Foundation will present the award at its annual meeting in Hot Springs on June 14.
Thompson has a general civil-litigation practice in the areas of insurance defense, products liability, professional liability, trucking litigation and commercial litigation. His most recent experience includes serving as counsel for an international oil and gas company in litigation resulting from a release of oil from an interstate pipeline, including multiple class actions; preparing significant motions, and multiple comprehensive discovery requests as part of the defense of a major agricultural company in a multimillion dollar negligence case; and providing counsel for numerous trucking companies, and their drivers, in negligence actions brought in state and federal court. Thompson is a member of the American Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association, Pulaski County Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and the Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel.
