Professional Experience

Jennifer has more than 10 years of experience as a health law attorney. Practice areas include medical staff employment, privileging, peer review and bylaws; professional licensing; medical marijuana; opioid stewardship and preventing drug diversion; government investigations and regulatory actions; Stark and Anti-kickback laws and regulations; patient privacy; telemedicine and the 340B Drug Pricing Program. She has extensive experience advising clients on the Healthcare Quality Improvement Act, Arkansas Peer Review Fairness Act, Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act, EMTALA, HIPAA and the Arkansas Healthcare Decisions Act.

Before joining the firm, Jennifer spent eight years as an attorney at the state’s only academic health sciences university, and she previously practiced as a registered nurse.

Community Involvement

In 2020, Jennifer was appointed to the American Health Law Association (AHLA) Medical Staff, Credentialing and Peer Review Practice Group as a Leadership Development Program participant. This enables Jennifer to access AHLA resources and communities, and connect with other healthcare legal leaders. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Dress for Success Northwest Arkansas and the Central Arkansas Rescue Effort (CARE) for Animals. She served on the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Association Board of Directors from 2011 to 2017. Other volunteer work includes the William H. Bowen School of Law Professional Mentoring Program and AR Kids Read.

Jennifer is a graduate of the UAMS Leadership Institute and Leadership Greater Little Rock, Class XXXII. She served on the Leadership Greater Little Rock Advisory Board from 2017-2019 and the Vizient Risk Management Network Steering Committee from 2016-2019.

She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, Arkansas and Pulaski County Bar Associations and the Emergency Nurses Association.

Upcoming Presentations

Jennifer presented at the 2019 Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians Annual Meeting, discussing changes in Arkansas law impacting physicians. She also participated as a session speaker at the 2019 AR SAVES Telestroke Conference.
