Professional Experience

Jones advises individuals and businesses in wide ranging industries including construction, banking, manufacturing and distribution, real estate, transportation and insurance on issues related to risk management, pre-litigation resolution and all aspects of civil litigation.

Jones’ more recent experience includes:

• Counsel for manufacturer in product liability action.
• Counsel for contractor in construction dispute.
• Counsel for architect in construction dispute.
• Defense of banks in lawsuits alleging wrongful foreclosure, violation of Arkansas’ Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Federal Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and Federal Truth in Lending Act (TILA).
• Co-counsel for a leading provider of health insurance in a policy rescission case.

Recognition

Jones has served as a member of the Board of Editors of the Indiana Civil Litigation Review (2008-2010) and as a member of the Arkansas Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Section Executive Council (2005-2006). He is regularly called upon as a speaker on business law topics and he authored A Tangled Web: The Propriety of Admitting into Evidence, as Party Opponent Statements, Statements Made between a Manufacturer and Its Distributor During an Investigation Of and Attempt to Remedy a Product Defect, 7(2) Indiana Civil Litigation Review 187 (2009).

In 2008, the Indiana Lawyer recognized Jones as one of twenty “Up and Coming Indiana Lawyers.” Jones has also received the Lyon College Patterson Decade Award, the Order of the Tartan Leadership Award and was a Regional Semi-finalist in a 2002 National Trial Competition. Since 2012, Mid-South Super Lawyers has recognized Jones as a “Rising Star” in the area of General Litigation. Since 2020, Jones has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America^© in the fields of Construction Law and Litigation – Construction. In 2023, Jones was also included in Best Lawyers in the field of Education Law.

He is a member of the American, Eighth Circuit, Arkansas, Pulaski County and Debtor-Creditor Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute and William R. Overton Inn of Court.

Community Involvement

Jones serves community organizations in the following capacities: Trustee, Lyon College (2008-present); President, Lyon College Alumni Leadership Council (2010-present); President-Elect, Lyon College Alumni Leadership Council (2009-2010); Member, Lyon College President’s Advisory Council (2005-present); Member, UALR William H. Bowen School of Law Alumni Board (2005-2010); President, Habitat for Humanity of Pulaski County (January 2005-June 2006), Vice-President/Interim President (2004).
