Zach is an associate on the firm’s Trial Team. He has a diverse practice helping clients in a variety of litigation matters, primarily in defense.

Professional Experience

Zach is a litigation associate for Wright Lindsey Jennings. He has a diverse practice assisting individuals and businesses in a variety of litigation matters, including business-related disputes involving breach of contract, trade secrets, sales, fraud, real estate, construction defects, and insurance issues. Zach’s litigation practice also includes cases involving products liability, tractor-trailer accidents, premises liability, and insurance defense. He has extensive experience in all phases of litigation, including pre-filing diligence, pleadings, fact and expert discovery, mediations, hearings, critical motions, and trials. Additionally, Zach counsels clients on contractual issues, real-property disputes, internal-business disagreements, and agricultural matters. 

Some of Zach’s recent experience includes:

  • Lead defense counsel for a national real estate brokerage in a case involving allegations of fraud and negligence over a sold property. Obtained favorable settlement following summary-judgment briefing. 
  • Lead defense counsel for large poultry producer in a case involving claims of fraud and breach of contract from former contractor. Case settled on favorable terms to the poultry producer days before trial. 
  • Defense counsel for Little Rock engineering firm in a case involving allegations of improper construction and design of a cotton gin. 
  • Represented individual in a dispute against an environmental consulting company involving claims of fraud and negligence related to percolation testing. 
  • Represented individual in a § 1983 claim against bail bond company for excessive force. 
  • Member of trial team for local utility company that obtained a multi-million-dollar judgment against international oil and gas company over cancelled natural gas contracts. 
  • Defense counsel for numerous trucking companies and their drivers in state and federal courts in cases involving driver negligence and direct-liability claims against the companies.  
  • Defense counsel for multiple automobile manufacturers in subrogation and product-liability cases. 
  • Defense counsel for multiple Arkansas and national businesses in premises-liability cases. 

Background

Before joining the firm, Zach clerked for the Honorable D.P. Marshall Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. He earned his J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law, where he received the school’s Business Law Certificate. While in law school, Zach was an Articles Editor for the Arkansas Law Review and a member of the Board of Advocates. He authored Rights in a Cloud of Dust: The Value and Qualities of Farm Data and How Its Property Rights Should Be Viewed Moving Forward, 71 Ark. L. Rev. 319 (2018). Zach also served as extern for the Honorable Timothy L. Brooks of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas and was a research assistant.

Before law school, Zach earned his B.S.A. in Agricultural Business with a pre-law concentration from the University of Arkansas. Zach is from Wynne, Arkansas, and he currently lives in Fayetteville with his wife Payton. 

Community Involvement

Zach is a member of the Washington County Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, and ALFA International. He is also a board member for WelcomeHealth, a free health clinic in Fayetteville.
