The partners of Wright Lindsey Jennings have elected four attorneys into partnership: Baxter D. DrennonFred M. Perkins IIIJeffrey L. Singleton and Michael A. Thompson.

Baxter D. Drennon has a trial-oriented practice in the areas of insurance defense (including transportation defense, products liability, construction disputes, professional negligence, premises liability, as well as coverage disputes) and representation of corporate clients (in cases involving automotive products liability, premises liability and trucking accidents).

He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, the Pulaski County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute and the Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel. In 2013 and 2014, Drennon was recognized by Mid-South Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in the area of Civil Litigation: Defense. During law school, he served as the Articles Editor for the Arkansas Law Review.

Fred M. Perkins III practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, securities, real estate development and general commercial transactions. He has the distinction of handling the legal work for some of the most successful initial public offerings in the state. Perkins, who began his career at Wright Lindsey Jennings after graduation from law school, returned to the firm in 2012 after serving as an investment banker with Stephens Inc., an executive with Acxiom Corporation and as a senior partner with Perkins Williams & Rice PLLC, where he gained considerable recognition for his transactional work.

Perkins is a member of the American Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arkansas State Society of Certified Public Accountants (Inactive Status) and also holds a General Securities Representative Series 7 license and a Series 63 license. In 2015 and 2016, Best Lawyers in America recognized Perkins in the areas of Commercial Finance Law and Corporate Law.

For more than 17 years, Jeffrey L. Singleton has had an active litigation practice, with an emphasis in medical malpractice defense, medical products liability defense, commercial litigation and toxic torts. Singleton has served as lead counsel in cases representing medical care providers, corporations and other professionals. His appellate experience includes briefing and argument in multiple reported cases before the Arkansas Supreme Court, Arkansas Court of Appeals and United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Singleton also brings to the firm significant experience in representing professional persons before state boards or agencies, including the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, the Arkansas State Medical Board, the Arkansas State Board of Nursing, the Arkansas State Board of Optometry and the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association, Pulaski County Bar Association and the William R. Overton Inn of Court. Since 2007 Singleton has been recognized by Best Lawyers in the area of personal injury defense. Mid-South Super Lawyers named him a “Rising Star” in 2009 and 2011 in medical malpractice defense.

Michael A. Thompson has a general civil-litigation practice in the areas of insurance defense, products liability, professional liability, trucking litigation and commercial litigation. His most recent experience includes serving as counsel for an international oil and gas company in litigation resulting from a release of oil from an interstate pipeline, including multiple class actions; preparing significant motions, and multiple comprehensive discovery requests as part of the defense of a major agricultural company in a multimillion dollar negligence case; and providing counsel for numerous trucking companies, and their drivers, in negligence actions brought in state and federal court. Thompson is a member of the American Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association, Pulaski County Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and the Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel.
