Wright Lindsey Jennings partner David L. Jones was elected a national director of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) at the organization’s annual meeting in Boston in October. DRI is the largest professional organization in the country exclusively representing defense bar attorneys.
Jones, who has been a member of DRI since 2008, received the 2020 DRI Davis Carr Outstanding Committee Chair Award for his work as Chair of the Construction Law Committee. DRI’s Construction Law Committee is comprised of 1,100+ member attorneys from across the country and world. In light of COVID-19, Jones faced the challenge of successfully transitioning the Committee’s annual seminar to DRI’s first-ever virtual event.
Previously, Jones served as vice chair and chair of the Construction Law Committee and, prior to that, served as vice chair and chair of the Construction Law seminar before transitioning to committee leadership roles. He is also currently a member of the DRI Membership Committee and Annual Meeting Planning Committee.
Jones focuses his Little Rock-based practice in the areas of business law and litigation, commercial litigation and construction law. He advises individuals and businesses in wide ranging industries including construction, banking, manufacturing and distribution, nonprofit, real estate, transportation and insurance on issues related to risk management, pre-litigation resolution and all aspects of civil litigation.
Within construction law, his practice centers on construction defect and related contract litigation, including representation of owners, contractors, design professionals, sureties and suppliers. He is a contributing author to several construction law publications and presents on construction law topics. Since 2020, Jones has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© in the fields of Construction Law and Litigation – Construction. Since 2012, Mid-South Super Lawyers has recognized Jones annually as a “Rising Star” in general litigation. In 2013, Arkansas Business named him to its “40 Under 40” list of business and political leaders. In 2014, Wright Lindsey Jennings elected Jones to join its partnership.
DRI is the leading organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel. Membership in DRI provides access to resources and tools for attorneys who strive to provide high-quality, balanced and excellent service to their clients and corporations.
