Wright Lindsey Jennings partner Antwan D. Phillips was honored as a 2019 Friend of Children by Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families (AACF) at their annual luncheon on Tuesday, October 8. Phillips joins fellow honorees Arkansas First Lady Susan Hutchinson and Kathy Webb, who were selected based on their tireless advocacy in improving the lives of children and families across Arkansas.

Phillips is a Little Rock native who has dedicated his free time to serve a number of nonprofits that focus on improving the lives of children, public education and overall quality of life in Little Rock.

Founded in 1977 by a group of 10 concerned Arkansans, AACF’s legislative advocacy and policy recommendations have helped create enduring social change in Arkansas communities. Their work has helped reduce the number of uninsured children in this state from 21 to 4 percent, increased access to quality pre-K education for 3- and 4-year-olds from low-income families, overhauled the juvenile justice system in the state, and advanced smart economic policies that help families and communities thrive.

Phillips’ community involvement has helped establish and grow his municipal governmental relations practice, through which he represents a number of municipal entities, and county and city governments on a variety of legal and financial issues. He also has a trial-oriented practice, which includes premises liability, products liability, dental malpractice and trucking litigation.
