WLJ partner Daveante Jones received the Rising Star award from the National Employment Law Council (NELC) during their 29th Annual Conference in Chicago.
The Outside Counsel Rising Star Award recognizes management side labor and employment law practitioners of color with fewer than 10 years of experience who have evidenced skills and aptitude for excellence both in the legal profession and in the community, as well as a demonstrated commitment to NELC. Daveante is an active member of NELC and also spoke at the 2024 conference.
The award also recognized Daveante for his continued involvement in NELC since 2020. Daveante participated in the NELC Academy in 2020 and 2021 and led a roundtable discussion on Employee Monitoring and Privacy at the 2023 Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. In September 2023, he completed the third iteration of the Labor and Employment Law Trial Institute, organized by NELC, the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law and Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. He also serves on the editorial committee for the NELC quarterly newsletter.
Daveante’s practice focuses on helping employers navigate day-to-day employment issues related to discipline, leaves and accommodations, administration of other workplace policies, as well as managing investigations and lawsuits that may arise.
