WLJ’s Labor & Employment Law Team offers training for first-time supervisors and managers, those who are new to the HR function, and even those HR professionals who just need a refresher. Join us on Wednesday, December 10, in person or online, for our next session. This 2.25-hour training course (filled with common scenarios and led by L&E Team partner Stuart Jackson) covers the legal basics that managers and supervisors should know, including:

  • An overview of the main employment laws and the types of employment actions they cover.
  • Understanding the different types of harassment and how to address it.
  • Recognizing when employees must be offered accommodations for things like disabilities, pregnancy and childbirth-related issues, and sincerely-held religious beliefs.
  • The most common mistakes managers make, including those related to wage and hour issues and failing to properly document employee performance issues.
  • Legally dangerous interview questions to avoid.

Recertification credit hours for SHRM and HRCI will be available.
